“IMPRESSION RECEIPT POINT”
Bohema Gallery, Warsaw
24.02.2017 – 10.03.2017
Paweł Wąsowski’s first solo exhibition, which also marks the opening of Bohema’s new location on Żurawia Street. Together with Paweł, we are launching the „Impression Collection Point” – a new spot on Warsaw’s map for those seeking aesthetic experiences. The exhibition’s title highlights the key elements of Wąsowski’s art – the artist’s paintings are composed of hundreds of meticulously crafted points placed on the canvas, which together create incredible optical effects. The paintings are created through a systematic and painstaking application of layers of color to achieve an optical effect that is not always intentional. Wąsowski’s painting has „done its homework” with the masters of op-art, drawn conclusions from their work, and continues calmly on its path, searching for its own means of artistic expression.
The exhibition will feature canvas paintings, miniatures on paper, and sculptures. The artist will also showcase his „Experimental Diptych,” inspired by the work of Ryszard Winiarski. This piece was created using an algorithm, with the final visual outcome determined by the random selection of colors for individual parts.
The exhibition is held under the honorary patronage of the Museum of the Mińsk Land in Mińsk Mazowiecki.
